TULSA, Okla. (May 17, 2023) – Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is helping Central High School seniors celebrate their graduation Thursday night.
A PSO grant through the Foundation for Tulsa Schools’ Partners in Education program will fund caps and gowns for the schools’ graduating class and teacher appreciation efforts.
About 60 Central High School seniors will graduate at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Expo Square Pavilion.
“Graduating from high school is an important achievement. It takes hard work, perseverance, and determination,” said PSO President and Chief Operating Office Leigh Anne Strahler. “We congratulate all the students on what they have accomplished and hope that we have helped make their big night a little more special.”
For 38 years, PSO has partnered with Central High School, Tulsa’s first high school whose storied history entwines around that of the city and PSO. PSO is headquartered in the original Central High School building at 212 E. Sixth St.
“PSO is one of our district’s longest-serving Partners in Education, and we are so grateful for their steadfast commitment to supporting the Central community,” said Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Deborah Gist. “Any parent of soon-to-be-graduate will tell you about the fees and expenses of their child’s senior year, and I know this grant has made a meaningful difference for the families of the Central class of 2023.”
