Recently, five YMCA facilities in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Owasso, and Okmulgee upgraded their lighting systems with high-efficiency LED equipment—reducing energy use while enhancing the spaces where community members gather, exercise, and connect.

The City of Grove has invested in energy efficiency through the construction of its new Wolf Creek Expo facility, creating a modern space designed to serve the community while reducing long-term energy costs. 

The City of Owasso is building smarter for the future. At the new Owasso Public Works facility, lighting upgrades are helping the city reduce energy use while enhancing the facility for employees. 

A systemwide effort is underway to upgrade more than 100 distribution circuits to higher voltage lines—an important step that improves performance, reduces outages, and allows for new technology on the grid. For customers, this means fewer outages, shorter interruptions when they do occur, and improved power quality for homes and businesses.

PSO’s drone program is improving how our team inspects power lines, assesses conditions, and restores service. Drones allow teams to safely inspect circuits in hard-to-reach areas such as wooded terrain, creek crossings, and private property.

The Tulsa Air & Space Museum is soaring toward a more energy-efficient future thanks to recent LED lighting upgrades throughout the interior and exterior of the building plus networked lighting controls—an investment that’s helping the museum reduce energy and save a projected total of 149,426 kWh annually. 

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is putting $29,000 into the hands of Oklahoma teachers who lead robotics teams at schools and organizations across the state, supporting programs in PSO service areas and communities near major PSO facilities. 

For more than 30 years, PSO employees have shown up to support the Special Olympics Summer Games Softball Throw, continuing a tradition rooted in service, encouragement and community connection.

The 25 PSO Teacher Vision grants to Oklahoma public school teachers total more than $11,000. Ranging from $100 to $500, the grants are designed to make creative projects possible for Pre-K through grade 12 teachers.

When the power goes out, finding the problem quickly makes all the difference, and PSO is using smarter tools to help crews restore electricity faster.
